Visual artist João Fortuna led a three-dimensional collage workshop with young people from the PER 11 neighbourhood in Alta de Lisboa. Known for his maximalist visual language constructed from layered wood, Fortuna challenged participants to explore this unconventional technique as a means of artistic expression and collective reflection.
Over several sessions, the community was invited to create a collaborative artwork through the gathering and manipulation of images, addressing themes such as identity, diversity, and belonging. The final piece was installed in a symbolic location within the neighbourhood, imbuing the space with the creativity and voices of those who live there.
