Slide 1

Lúcia Afonso's workshop aims to present hip hop culture in a dance conference that allows the audience to understand its foundations and challenges, through a lively historical discourse with interactive demonstration. The conference is supported by testimonies, philosophical and sociological links, by listening to music and referencing the history of dance as well as its ethnocultural origins. From there, the creative processes of recognised precursors can be explained — the story behind a movement that today is considered the fundamental basis for recognising a dance style. This conference will be led by the participants of the project and presented at Festival Iminente 2022.
